The HSG Rival XPLR is our third-tier SRAM build, delivering a premium ride experience thanks to the frame’s UDH design. It’s our entry-level HSG, but far from basic.
It uses the same 13-speed 10–46t cassette as the rest of the XPLR range, offering tight high-end gear steps and wider climbing ratios. This pairs with a machined aluminium Rival XPLR crankset (upgradeable to a spindle-based power meter) and 38–46t chainring options, delivering trickle-down performance from Red in a more affordable package.
The build features the ENVE In-Route gravel fork and ENVE Aero stem, combined with PRO Discover aluminium handlebars and a PRO PLT seatpost. Unlike typical entry-level builds, it still rolls on Schwalbe G-One RX Pro tyres set up tubeless on DAO Gravel 40 wheels. As with all HSG models, it’s finished with colour-matched Chris King components: Aeroset 3 headset, T47 bottom bracket and seatpost clamp.
